Anti-Myc Tag Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Epitope tagging is a powerful and versatile strategy for detecting and purifying proteins expressed by tagged genes. Tagged proteins can be detected and/or purified using highly specific antibodies to the engineered peptide, thus eliminating the need for antibodies to each individual protein. In this regard, Tagging Antibodies can be used as universal antibodies. There are several epitope tags commonly used, such as 6-histidine (6X-His), c-myc (Myc), influenza A virus haemagglutinin (HA) and glutathione-S-transferase (GST). Normalizing Antibodies are very useful to check if same amount of protein samples is load on each lane. This is especially true for quantitative comparisons by Western experiment. This anit-myc tag antibody is synthesided from a peptide corresponding to residues 410-319 (EQKLISEEDL), coupled to KLH.
SPECIAL FEATURES
- Myc-tagged anitbody recognizes over-expreessed proteins containing a myc epitope tag to either amino-, or carboxy- termini.
APPLICATIONS
- ELISA, Dot Blot, or Western Blotting (1:1000), recommended start.
- Immunoprecipitation and immunostaining (1:200), recommended start.

Western blot analysis of Myc-tagged fusion construct under different transfectin conditions of transfection reagents and amount of fusion DNA construct.
